Out Now: Crank 2: High Voltage
How can the same thing happen to one man twice? For Chev Chelios (Jason Stratham) it certainly can.
Crank 2 carries on where the original left off with Chev seemingly falling to his death from a helicopter. Hitting the street below Chev is crudely shovelled up (still in one piece) by a shady-group of Chinese medics.
A rather groggy Chev comes too some time later to see his heart being removed before his very eyes. Passing out from the sickening sight he awakes again to discover himself still on the medical bed only to disocver that his heart's been replaced with an artifical one.
Escaping from the make-shift hospital-come-brothel Chev gets into a gunfight. Interrogating a man after the street has been lain with carnage he discovers that his heart was stolen (albeit in a non-romantic way) by a one Johnny Vang (Art Hsu).
Things then take a turn for the worse as the external battery to Chev's artifical heart is destroyed in a car crash. With the back-up internal battery only powerful enough to keep him alive for an hour Chev must come up with more and more ingenious ways to keep his heart going (similiar to the first film where he had to keep his adrenaline racing to survive).
Teaming up with his former girlfriend Eve Lydon (Amy Smart) Chev gives chase to the man who quite literally stole his heart.
This sequel to the 2006 indulges in all the boyhood fantasies of gun fights, sex, violence and gritty humour.
If you are not overly struck by extensive chase scenes there is enough one liners and black humour to make you laugh including the more and more ingenius ways Chev keeps himself alive including hooking himself up to a car battery, being tazered and even rubbing himself against an old lady...
